NHL Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Forward Pickups March 26 - Canucks' Suter and Devils' Haula Stepping Up with Bigger Names Out

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.

Plus Suter, C, VAN @ NYI (6% rostered)
Ladies and gentlemen, your Vancouver Canucks first line center. Who had Suter in this roll on your bingo card? Yet, here is where we are as Elias Pettersson (undisclosed) and Filip Chytil (concussion) are both sidelined with injuries. Suter made the most of the chance Monday, notching a goal and an assist. He had been productive lately in a lesser role prior to the two absences, picking up five goals and seven points over the last seven games.

Kyle Palmieri, RW, NYI vs. VAN (18% rostered)
Palmieri surprisingly lit the lamp 30 times last season while adding 24 assists for the second highest point total of his career. His numbers have taken a small hit this year, though he still is having a solid campaign. Palmieri is at 2 goals, 45 points, 143 shots on net, 47 hits, 37 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating through 70 contests, leaving him nine shy of last year’s total. He is seeing time on the Islanders’ top line as they try and make a late-season run to a playoff spot.

Erik Haula © Eric Hartline-Imagn Images

Eric Haula, C/LW, NJ @ CHI (3% rostered)
Holla at your boy, as Haula scored for the third game in a row Monday, and he has six points over his last seven outings. Haula has stepped up with Jack Hughes (shoulder) sidelined for the balance of the season. He is up to nine goals, 17 points, 97 shots on net, 87 hits, 35 PIM and a minus-7 rating through 59 contests this season, but as seen above, a good portion of that production has come lately. Haula showed the last three seasons he can produce offensively, so roll with him while hot.

Jeff Skinner, LW, EDM vs. DAL (26% rostered)
Like Suter and Haula, Skinner has raised his game with bigger name players sidelined. He has a three goals his last two contests, provide offense with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl sidelined. The veteran winger will see his production decline for the second season in a row, as he has is 14 goals, 24 points, 124 shots on net and a minus-1 rating through 60 outings overall. But if he remains hot while McDavid and Draisaitl are out, all will likely be forgotten in Oilers-land.

Mason McTavish, C, ANA @ BOS (29% rostered)
The 4 Nations Face-Off break came after a perfect time for McTavish. He used to time off to rest and reset, which has been evident in his performance on the ice. Since then, McTavish has five goals and 11 assists in 15 games, helping him match up production from 2022-23 as a rookie and exceed last year's total by a point. McTavish, centering the Ducks' third line, has a good chance of challenging the 50-point mark by the end of the campaign.
