On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.
Matvei Michkov, RW, PHI at MTL (49% rostered)
Michkov will ‘graduate’ from this list soon as his current scoring pace. He carries a six-game points streak into this game, including three consecutive multi-point efforts. Previous Habs-Flyers matchups have featured plenty of goals, and this one will probably be no different with two goalies struggling to keep pucks out of their net.
Trevor Moore, LW/RW, LA vs. EDM (28% rostered)
Andrei Kuzmenko, LW/RW, LA vs. EDM (20% rostered)
Moore is on a three-game goals streak and getting lots of minutes on one of the league’s best third lines. Moore and Phillip Danault both play PP2 for added value, and Moore’s a good high-volume shooter averaging over two shots per game.
Kuzmenko has two goals and six points in his past three games, forming a dynamite trio with Adrian Kempe and Anze Kopitar, bringing in some much-needed offensive creativity. The Kings should be able to dominate puck possession with the Oilers missing both Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid, and the Oilers PK ranks 21st this season.
Pius Suter, C/LW, VAN vs. ANA (21% rostered)
Suter is the Canucks’ No. 1 center by default but, to be fair, he’s played well in that role, setting career highs in goals (22) and points (42). He’s averaging well over 20 minutes with L1 and PP1 minutes.
Stefan Noesen, LW/RW, NJ vs. NYR (22% rostered)
Noesen has three points in four games and should see plenty of ice time on L1 and PP1. The veteran winger already has one goal in three games against the rival Rangers, who have been horrendous defensively all season.
Jackson Blake, RW, CAR at BOS (14% rostered)
Blake is making the most of his opportunities on the top line with four goals in four games. His minutes are really starting to increase in the latter part of the season, and this is an easy matchup that the Canes should dominate even though it’s the second game of a back-to-back.
Ryan McLeod, C, BUF vs. TB (10% rostered)
McLeod’s an unsung hero for the Sabres this season and quietly excelling as their No. 2 center. He’s scored three goals and seven assists in his past six games, giving the Sabres a solid second scoring line. This is a tough matchup but the Sabres are one of the league’s best offensive teams.
Jimmy Snuggerud, RW, STL vs. COL (1% rostered)
Snuggerud notched his first career point in his second NHL game, finishing with an assist and two shots in 16:22 TOI against the Pens. With Dylan Holloway out, Snuggerud is going to get an expanded role and expected to play L1 with Robert Thomas. This is a big opportunity for arguably the Blues’ top prospect, and the matchup against the Avs is enticing because they often prefer to play a free-flowing offensive game.
Rutger McGroarty, RW, PIT at DAL (1% rostered)
Tough matchup but McGroarty’s upside is playing on a line with Sidney Crosby. His NHL career didn’t get off to a good start but in his second game since his call-up scored a goal and an assist with 18:28 of ice time. He should get something similar if he continues to play with Crosby, and scoring should be slightly easier with the Stars expected to ...
