New Orleans Saints' legendary 2017 draft class is still going strong

The New Orleans Saints' 2017 NFL draft class was absolutely outstanding, with every player still in the league as of now, though with Ryan Ramczyk's injury, that streak may come to an end this offseason. Many will look at the high-end elite talents of this class to tell the story, but one player has flown a bit under the radar, the last selection in the class for the Saints.

Al-Quadin Muhammad was taken in the sixth round of this draft at pick No. 196 and ultimately would play four games for the Saints before moving on to the Indianapolis Colts. Now in 2025, he plays for the Detroit Lions after a short stint with the Chicago Bears, and with 93 career games under his belt, he has made a name for himself in the league as well.

Muhammad will continue to play through 2025 as well, as the Lions re-upped his deal for one more year, as was reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

In his 93 games at the NFL level, Muhammad has started 36 games, picking up 3,163 defensive snaps and 342 special teams snaps. In this span, he has produced 15 sacks, 168 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, one recovery, two pass deflections, 38 QB hits, and 67 pressures.

While this is not mind-boggling statistical production, it is very solid, and despite it being for another team and not the Saints, it is nice to see him still getting opportunities to play and make an impact with a competitive roster eight years later.
