Nation's No. 42 recruit Brandie Harrod decommits from Auburn after coach firing
After Auburn fired head women’s basketball coach Johnnie Harris earlier this month, an Oklahoma star has decommitted from the school.
Putman North’s Brandie Harrod, the No. 42-ranked recruit in the 2025 class according to 247 Sports, announced her decision on social media. The news came just hours after she led her team to its first Oklahoma state championship.

Harrod averaged 13 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game this season, according to The Oklahoman’s Nick Sardis.
Harrod had been committed to Auburn since September. She said she is re-opening her recruitment and at this point it is not clear how she might be leaning. Before signing with Auburn, 247 Sports also had Clemson, Georgia, Mississippi State and Oklahoma State in the mix, although that is old information.
Harrod is listed as a 4-star prospect.
