Most productive pass-catching RBs for Jaguars in 2025 NFL draft
Adding to the running back position should be on the Jacksonville Jaguars' radar in the 2025 NFL draft.
For one, depth is needed with only three running backs under contract currently. This also happens to be a very deep draft class, so chances are at various points throughout the draft, a player near the top of the Jaguars' big board very well could be a running back, not to mention that adding high-end talent is always a good thing.
ESPN's Jordan Reid has 33 running backs with draftable grades. For some context, that's like having two running back classes stuffed into one.
While the focus on the outside is on how Liam Coen will get Trevor Lawrence back on track, and that's obviously important, the running game is going to be a key part of that equation.
In addition to that, when it comes to the running back position in Coen's offense, that unit played an important role in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' passing game last season.
Rachaad White would finish the 2024 season with 53 receptions, 407 receiving yards, and six touchdowns through the air. Bucky Irving, meanwhile, caught 49 passes for 398 yards with one touchdown, according to PFF.
Compared to the rest of the NFL, White would rank ninth among all running backs in receptions, and Irving was 10th. White would also finish ninth in yards, and Irving 11th.
Travis Etienne can certainly be a factor in the passing game, but if the Jaguars are looking to also further add that element to the backfield in the draft, given the importance of that ability in Coen's offense, who were the most productive pass-catching backs in college football last season?
