Miller WestMAC Player of the Year; all-conference team revealed

Allegany's Avery Miller is the Player of the Year of the Western Maryland Athletic Conference for a third time, and the rest of the all-conference squad was revealed Monday.

Miller, a senior signed to Penn State for Track and Field, received four votes from the conference's coaches for the top honor, and Carly Wilt of Southern received the other.

Miller, a four-time All-City selection, was WestMAC Player of the Year in 2023 and shared the honor with Carly Bennett of Fort Hill in 2022.

The guard led the conference this season in scoring (19.1 points per game), rebounding (11.0 rpg), assists (4.3 apg), steals (5.9 spg) and blocks (1.3 bpg).

Southern won the WestMAC with an 8-0 record, followed in the standings by Allegany (6-2), Mountain Ridge (4-4), Northern (2-6) and Fort Hill (0-8).

The Rams placed three on the first team in Wilt, Jayden Weaver and Emelee Parks.

Wilt was second in the WestMAC averaging 15 points per game in conference play, and Parks was second in assists at four a night.

Mountain Ridge's Kealana Pua'auli and Northern's Abby Nelson joined Miller and the Rams' trio on the top squad.

The second team was made up of Allegany's Braylin Bosley, Northern's Isabella Yoder, Southern's Joycelyn Ward, Fort Hill's Aubry Spangler and Addison Furstenberg, and Mountain Ridge's Makayla Ziler and Taylor Lamberson.

Maizzy Hose of Allegany was the lone honorable mention.
