A bad night to go ice cold, and Michigan State basketball did just that, freezing their way to an Elite 8 loss to the Auburn Tigers, ending their 2024-25 season. Auburn would defeat Michigan State, 70-64.
To open the game, Michigan State went punch for punch with Auburn, but the Tigers quickly hit with a 17-0 run to open the game up to 23-8. Michigan State could never overcome the big deficit.
On multiple occasions, the Spartans got it to under ten points, but could never get the timely bucket to really put pressure on the Tigers.
Michigan State was led by Jaxon Kohler, who had 17 points in the game. Jaden Akins added 15 points, while Jase Richardson had 11 points in the contest.
The Spartans will now turn to the offseason, with some roster moves that will surely need to be made, and will retool and gear up for another run in 2025-26.
