Inter president Giuseppe Marotta remains positive about the new stadium project with AC Milan, giving some time frames for the work.

Earlier in the month, Milan and Inter put forward an offer to the City Council to buy the current San Siro and the surrounding site. The plan is to then partially demolish the existing stadium after building a new one close to it.

Marotta made some statements regarding the new San Siro during today’s meeting with Inter Club fans at the current ground, and his comments have been relayed by MilanPress.

“Without going into details, 15 days ago we presented our offer to purchase San Siro and the surrounding areas with Milan. Now there will be a tender in which there could also be other competitors,” he said.

“Our goal is to become owners of this area. If all goes well, the work could begin in 2027 and if all goes well we hope to be able to play in the new stadium in 2030. I am optimistic and we hope we can get to this point.”
