LSU gymnastics repeats as SEC champion, wins seventh conference title in program history
After an SEC championship and national championship in 2024 and a regular-season championship this season, LSU gymnastics were one of the favorites to win the SEC title this season. The Tigers managed to back up the hype. They repeated as conference champion Saturday night with a 198.2. Oklahoma finished second 197.925, Florida third at 197.825, and Missouri fourth at 197.4.
LSU had an early lead after the first rotation. Through the second, the Tigers stayed in the lead, neither increasing it nor having it decreased.
They lost the lead after the third, falling behind the Gators. A fourth rotation on the vault, one that saw four consecutive routines of a 9.9 or better not only took the lead back for LSU, it gave the program its largest lead of the night.
Team performance
Although the Tigers wound up winning overall, LSU only managed to win two events as a team — but it came at the best possible time. A 49.525 on the vault was enough to clinch the overall championship, coming just after a 49.625 on the floor exercise.
In the other events, the Tigers finished second on both the balance beam and the uneven parallel bars, where LSU finished second to Florida and Oklahoma, respectively.

Individual champions
In addition to their two team championships, the Tigers still had two individuals claim a combined three championships in specific events.
Aleah Finnegan and Haleigh Bryant both scored a 9.925 on the balance beam, tying for the championship with Missouri's Helen Hu.
Bryant and Finnegan also battled for the individual all-around championship, with Bryant's 39.725 narrowly beating Finnegan's 39.625.
Livvy Dunne still out
The fifth-year star was held out of the regular-season finale two weeks ago after suffering a fractured kneecap. Although she had made some progress in her recovery since then, it wasn't enough to return to competition. She was held out once again Saturday night, being ruled out before the Tigers' session began when she did not appear on the team's lineup card.
