LPGA pro Dani Holmgvist gets married at Mar-a-Lago, celebrates with Trump and Elon Musk

Mar-a-Lago, the Florida home of President Donald Trump, was the site of an opulent wedding on Friday when LPGA pro Daniela Holmqvist tied the knot with Charles Schick.

Many notables were in attendance, including Trump, billionaire Elon Musk, former U.S. Women’s Open champion Paula Creamer, and Madelene Sagestrom. She is seen in social media posts with Trump, Musk and the advisor's young son.

Holmqvist attended Trump's presidential inauguration in January and played in the Founders Cup in Bradenton, Florida, where she missed the cut.

She is slated to play in the Ford Championship at the Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Arizona, starting March 27.

Who is Daniela Holmqvist?

Holmqvist, who goes by Dani, was born in Bern, Switzerland, in 1988 and started her collegiate golf career at Tulane before transferring to California-Berkeley.

She joined the LPGA in 2014, and among her 146 career starts, she has two top-ten finishes and also has four top-10s on the European tour and is currently No. 661 in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings. The closest she has come to a major win came in 2020 when she led the British Open after two rounds before faltering and falling out of contention, shooting a six-over par 77 in the third round.

She only played in 10 events in 2024 due to back and nerve injuries and is playing this season on medical extension.

In 2013, while playing during the second round of a qualifier for the Women's Australian Open, Holmqvist was bitten by an Australian Red Back spider and used a tee to extract the venom. She continued to play the final 14 holes of the round and didn't qualify for the tournament, but she earned the nickname "Spider Woman."
