Lorenzo Carter, former Giants and Falcons OLB, signs with Tennessee Titans
The Tennessee Titans are adding another veteran edge rusher to their defense with the acquisition of Lorenzo Carter, the team announced Thursday.
Carter, a seven-year vet who's spent time with the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons, has started 62 games with 21.5 career sacks. He's never notched more than five sacks in a season and didn't log any in 2024 despite playing 13 games with 11 starts.
The Titans add Carter to a depleted room of pass rushers that includes returning talents like Arden Key and Jaylen Harrell as well as free agent acquisition Dre'Mont Jones. Other free agents the Titans have added this offseason include offensive linemen Dan Moore Jr. and Kevin Zeitler, receiver Van Jefferson, linebacker Cody Barton and safety Xavier Woods.
Adding edge rusher depth has been listed as one of the Titans' primary needs throughout the 2025 offseason, especially after the Titans released Harold Landry III in early March. Even with Landry on roster a year ago, the Titans ranked among the NFL's worst teams when it came to sack rate and pressure rate, leading to rampant speculation about the Titans' interest in top pass rushers like Penn State's Abdul Carter with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Carter, 29, was a third-round draft pick out of Georgia in 2018.
