Liverpool offered Bundesliga forward ahead of summer rebuild
Report: Schalke Striker Offered to Liverpool as Attacking Options Explored
Striker Search Continues Ahead of Key Summer Window
Liverpool’s plans for the summer transfer window are beginning to take shape, and according to Football Transfers, a fresh name has emerged on the radar. Moussa Sylla, the 25-year-old Schalke 04 forward, has been offered to the Reds as clubs across Europe are approached about a potential move.
With questions surrounding the futures of Darwin Núñez and Diogo Jota, Liverpool’s recruitment team—led by sporting director Richard Hughes—is preparing for all possibilities. The club is said to be assessing long-term attacking reinforcements, with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak identified as a high-profile target.
However, the Swedish international would command a fee in excess of €100 million, a valuation that doesn’t align with Liverpool’s historically pragmatic approach.
Sylla Represented by Super-Agent in Push for Big Move
In contrast, Sylla presents a significantly lower-cost option. Currently playing in 2. Bundesliga, he has notched 13 goals this season and is looking for a way out of Germany’s second tier.
“The Royal Blues need to raise funds, and the striker has shown himself to be much too good to languish in second-tier no man’s land,” the report stated.
Sylla is represented by Rafaela Pimenta, a super-agent known for navigating complex deals. She is now reportedly offering Sylla to major European clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester United, in an attempt to secure a step up.
“We are told that Pimenta is offering her client to a host of clubs around Europe to gauge their interest in potentially signing him. The agent is leaving no stone unturned and has even approached the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United.”
Low-Risk Option or Opportunistic Offer?
While Sylla’s name is unlikely to top Liverpool fans’ wish lists, his goal-scoring form and minimal transfer fee may appeal to the club’s data-led recruitment model. That said, there is no indication that Liverpool have yet engaged in serious talks.
With Arne Slot set to oversee his first summer in charge, expect more names to emerge as Hughes and his team explore all available avenues.
Our View – Anfield Index Analysis
Let’s be honest—this isn’t the kind of link Liverpool fans were expecting in the post-Klopp rebuild. Moussa Sylla? A 25-year-old striker from the second division in Germany? It feels underwhelming at best, worrying at worst.
Sure, the financial logic checks out. He’s a cheaper alternative to Isak, he’s scoring goals, and he fits the mould of a low-risk gamble. But if we’re serious about challenging Manchester City and going deep in the Champions League again, we need elite-level reinforcements—not opportunistic punts.
The idea that Liverpool are being approached about a player rather than actively scouting him raises questions. Are we being proactive or just fielding agent offers? This feels like a throwback to the days before Klopp, when planning lacked purpose.
It’s early days in the Arne Slot era, but links like this will do little to convince sceptical fans that we’re moving in the right direction. We’ll reserve full judgement until deals start happening—but this one doesn’t inspire confidence.
