The Lions announced new jersey numbers for a handful of players, including a new owner of jersey No. 0.
Running back Jahmyr Gibbs will now don the famous jersey, as he'll go from No. 26 to No. 0. Except to see plenty of zeros, in a good way, at Ford Field next season. Last season's No. 0, cornerback Terrion Arnold, will now wear No. 6. Safety Ifeatu Melifonwu had the number last season but is now with the Miami Dolphins, opening up the number for Arnold.
You can also expect to see a lot No. 1 in crowds this season as well. That's because wide receiver Jameson Williams will now wear the number, switching over from No. 9. Wide receiver Maurice Alexander had No. 1 last season. Williams' old number will now be worn by Detroit's other early-round cornerback from last season, Ennis Rakestraw Jr. Rakestraw wore No. 15 as a rookie.
