Kirra and Australians Dominate in Classic Keg Comp’s Final Leg

It’s time for Bruce Irons, Joel Parkinson, Mark Occhilupo and Dean Morrison to roll up their sleeves. The last installment of the Cooly Kids Classic Keg Comp has ended, and it’s time for the judges to scroll through three months of entries and decide who got the best tubes. Decide for yourself from the January, February and March videos.

Those judges have to determine eight winners from four divisions: groms (10 and under), juniors (16 and under opens and masters (45+). There are male and female winners in each division, and various prizes include all-expenses-paid trips to tropical surf resorts and $5,000 to the best overall keg. Winners will be announced at a live event in Tweed Heads on April 26.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Tropical Cyclone Alfred fueled most of the entities from March before it devolved and made landfall in Southern Queensland and Northern New South Wales. Kirra in particular is the star of this episode, as it turned the long-period energy into some of the biggest pits the Gold Coast has seen in years. see

There are too many standout entries to go over here. Do yourself a favor and check it out above. Aussies like Josh Kerr, Mick Fanning, Korbin Hutchings, Jack Robinson, Piper Harro

But not to be outdone, Hawaii gifted some remarkable late entries to Ned Hart and Lukas Skinner with some hectic Off The Wall bombs. And of course, Tosh Tudor’s Pipeline roll-in could live on its own pedestal.
