Kentucky basketball falls short vs. Kansas State in Women's March Madness overtime game
LEXINGTON — The first Kentucky women's basketball season of the Kenny Brooks era came to an end on Sunday with an 80-79 overtime loss to Kansas State at Memorial Coliseum in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
In the first year under Brooks, the Wildcats (23-8) were a 4-seed for the fifth time in program history and made it to the second round of March Madness for the first time since 2021.
All-American guard Georgia Amoore finished her college career with an 18-point performance and dished out six assists to set a new single-season program record with 213. The record was previously held by Patty Jo Hedges, who recorded 206 assists in the 1982-83 season.
