Keenan Allen hints at possible return to Chargers

The band could be getting back together.

The Chargers brought back Mike Williams, signing him to a one-year deal. Now, they could possibly add another former member of the wide receiver room, Keenan Allen.

Williams posted a story with him and Allen together while they were with the Chargers with the caption “Run it back turbo." Allen reposted it.

Williams and Allen have remained good friends throughout the years, and recently golfed together and went to Disneyland together.

Williams has made it clear at his introductory press conference earlier this month that he would love to have Allen back in Los Angeles.

Allen, who is still a free agent, was traded to the Bears last year to clear up cap space. In 2024, he appeared in 15 games, finishing with 70 catches for 744 yards and seven touchdowns.

Before being shipped to Chicago, Allen appeared in 139 games with 134 starts and caught 904 passes for 10,530 yards and 59 touchdowns with the Bolts.

Allen is not getting any younger and may have lost a step, but he would still be a decent piece in the positional group. He would be reliable on third-down situations and in the red zone.

Should the Chargers bring back Allen, this shouldn't stop them from adding a wide receiver in the early rounds of the draft, particularly with speed to threaten defenses vertically.
