Kansas City Chiefs OL Jaylon Moore describes learning from Pro Bowler Trent Williams
The addition of left tackle Jaylon Moore to start free agency for the Kansas City Chiefs made an immediate statement that changes were needed on the offensive line. The former backup with the San Francisco 49ers is ready to take his place as a full-time starter beginning in the 2025 season.
During his introductory press conference on Zoom on Thursday, Moore opened up about learning from former Pro Bowler Trent Williams while serving as backup in San Francisco.
"It was everything I could have imagined; you kind of sit in the film room every day, and to me, I kind of set a standard for myself, and with that being a standard every day, day in and day out," said Moore. "It's kind of hard for the floor to be very low, I would say. (I'm) not saying that it's hard for anybody else to be able to do that, but just being put in that position and being able to study behind him (Trent Williams) and kind of critique my game based on what I see every single day. I mean, it made all the difference in the world."
The 2021 fifth-round pick had his longest run as a starter during a five-game stretch in the 2024 season. While Williams was injured, he filled in admirably and had made 12 starts in his four NFL seasons.
