Olympic triathlon gold medallist Jonny Brownlee said he hopes an international race will return to Jersey.
The 34-year-old said he and his fellow Olympic champion brother Alistair liked the Super League Triathlon event which was held in the island from 2017 until 2021.
Organisers cancelled the event in 2022 due to economic and scheduling issues and the race has not returned to the island in subsequent Super League Triathlon seasons.
Brownlee, who won gold in the mixed relay event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics along with silver and bronze in the men's individual races at Rio 2016 and London 2012 respectively, said the event in Jersey was "amazing".
'Like Yorkshire but not quite as good'
Brownlee, who finished second in the 2021 men's race behind Paris 2024 Olympic champion Alex Yee, added he had been back on holiday in Jersey since the Super League Triathlon event was pulled.
He said the atmosphere when the races were held in Jersey was great and he thought the island was an "incredible place".
"I was actually hoping it might be back at some point, so hopefully it will be back," he said.
"The first year we came here it was amazing with the crowds and everyone getting behind it.
"I love Jersey - it's like Yorkshire but not quite as good."
