Jazz Chisholm Jr. sounded off on the criticism about using the Yankees’ torpedo bats

We're just a few days into the MLB season, and the Yankees have already managed to get the entire league's attention — along with plenty of critics.

But don't expect Jazz Chisholm Jr. to do away with the controversial torpedo bats anytime soon.

The Yankees infielder had himself a huge opening series against the Brewers. He hit three home runs, drove in six with five hits in three games. He was also among the players to use the new bat design, which lowers the sweet spot of the bat to where Chisholm makes his strongest contact.

The bat is legal by MLB standards, but plenty of fans (and some players) have called for it be banned. On Monday, Chisholm took to Twitter/X to defend the bat.

And while a few Yankees players were the first to use the torpedo bats, it's not something that is exclusive to the Yankees. Any player can use the torpedo bat if they want to.

The league has already said that the bats are legal, and Chisholm told reporters that he felt the bats provided more confidence at the plate rather than a real measurable advantage.

We'll have to see how he performs beyond that one series, but the intrigue is certainly there.
