Jason Licht gives positive update on Chris Godwin's injury recovery
Chris Godwin returned to the Bucs as free agency kicked off, making Tampa Bay fans happy and Patriots fans upset at the decision. Godwin is coming off a season-ending injury after starting the year on a pace that he has never seen before in his career.
Folks are concerned about his status coming off such a gruesome ankle injury in 2024. Thankfully, Jason Licht gave an update on the fan-favorite wide receiver's injury status over the weekend during a spot on WDAE's The Drive with TKras.
Licht said, "I'm feeling very good about it. He's hitting all of his milestones. He's hitting all of his markers. He's where he's supposed to be. We're not going to try to set any records for the fastest rehab because we want to make sure everything's done right and just get him out there for the regular season. Right now, we're taking it week by week. I've said this time and time before, but I would never bet against Chris."
Chris Godwin has been very public about his rehab and the steps he is taking to make it back to the field. If Jason Licht is feeling confident, we all should be.
