Inter earn €10m more than Milan, Juventus and Atalanta in UCL bonuses
Inter, Milan, Juventus and Atalanta have all received bonuses for finishing in the top 24 at the end of the Champions League league phase, but the Nerazzurri have earned themselves €10m more than their Serie A competitors for progressing to the round of 16.
Inter earn €10m more than Milan, Juventus and Atalanta in UCL bonuses
According to reports from Calcio e Finanza, all clubs who earned a bonus were paid by UEFA on Friday.
The bonuses paid by UEFA on Friday were specifically for teams who qualified for the play-off round and the round of 16. These bonuses come on top of the customary appearance fees and win bonuses.
Each of the teams who qualified for the play-off round, including Milan, Juventus and Atalanta, received payments of €1m from UEFA. Those who qualified for the round of 16, Inter among them, received bonuses of €11m.
Bologna did not qualify for the play-off round and were therefore not entitled to any further bonuses.
That means that the competing Italian sides earned a combined €14m by qualifying for the knock-outs, but 78.5% of that money was paid to Inter.
Having already qualified for the quarter-final, Inter will also be entitled to an additional bonus of €12.5m. €15m will be paid to the four semi-finalists and the eventual finalists will earn an additional €18.5m, with the winner earning €6.8m on top of that.
