Injury report for SEC Tournament Finals between Florida Gators and Tennessee Volunteers
The opening tipoff of the 2025 SEC Tournament Finals is less than two hours away. Ahead of the epic matchup between the Florida Gators and Tennessee Volunteers, the SEC Availability report was released for both schools, each with one player listed as "out" for the game.
Todd Golden's team will once again be without forward Sam Alexis, whose ankle injury continues to keep him on the sidelines. The frontcourt transfer from the Chattanooga Mocs last played on Feb. 11 against Mississippi State; he was removed from UF's availability report on March 4 for the Alabama Crimson Tide matchup, but did not see any action.
The 6-foot-9-inch native of Apopka, Florida, appeared in 23 games for the Gators during the regular season, averaging 4.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in 12.4 minutes per outing.
Rick Barnes' squad will be without guard J.P. Estrella — who is the lone player listed on Tennessee's availability report — but that is far from unexpected. The Vols lost their talented sophomore back in November to a foot injury, which required season-ending surgery to correct.
"We feel badly for J.P. that he won’t be able to compete alongside his teammates this season," Barnes offered. "In addition to being a talented player, he is such a positive and energetic person. It is for that reason we know he will still make an impact, even if it’s not on the court."
The rubber match between the Gators and Volunteers — both of whom scored home-court wins during the regular season — begins at 1 p.m. ET inside Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
