Potential Sixers prospects go at it in national championship game

The Philadelphia 76ers have three games left in the 2024-25 season following a 117-105 loss to the Miami Heat on Monday night. The focus now is mostly on the draft as the Sixers look to finish out the string in what has been a tough season.

The men's college basketball national championship game took center stage on Monday night as the Florida Gators took on the Houston Cougars. The game featured a couple of potential Sixers draft prospects in Florida's Walter Clayton Jr. and Houston's LJ Cryer.

Clayton, a potential second-round pick for the Sixers, had 11 points, seven assists, and five rebounds in what was a very quiet night for him until he got going after halftime. Cryer, most likely an undrafted gem in the upcoming draft, had 19 points and six rebounds as Florida rallied and came out on top 65-63.

It was a terrific game and a terrific ending to the college basketball season. While Florida can now celebrate, the focus around the college basketball world will now look ahead to June when the top prospects will see their NBA dream recognized.
