AC Milan host Fiorentina at San Siro tonight hoping to reignite their very slim hopes of a European spot, but another story is dominating the news.

Milan come into the game having drawn 1-1 against Inter in the first leg of their cup semi-final, and at present that is their most realistic route into a European competition for next season.

However, they must also keep plugging away in the league too and La Viola are in town tonight, a side that still harbour ambitions of getting even a spot in the top four.

Today’s front pages

As expected there is plenty of talk of tonight’s game, but the Italian media this morning have also focused on the Fabio Paratici news from yesterday.

La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Scaroni exclusive. Signings, sporting director and the future. ‘It will be another Milan. Disappointed, but working to win. We strengthen the sporting area and will start again with Reijnders’. Paratici off, new casting. Last train vs. Fiorentina.”

Corriere dello Sport: “Poor Diavolo. Paratici off, Tare in the front row. Conceicao crossroads. More twists. The club’s plans change again. Last call for the Portuguese who must beat Fiorentina. Abraham starter.”

Tuttosport: “A sensational turnaround. Milan backtrack. Paratici blocked! Tension after the verbal agreement: the former Juve player surprised. Disqualification and Prisma trial weigh heavily. Tare and D’Amico are rising for the role of sporting director. Tonight Fiorentina.”

QS: “Milan, a year of always being in the balance.”
