The Brooklyn Nets have seen coaches come and go since the franchise moved to Brooklyn as the team hasn't seemed to find the guy to stick around for the long haul. One of the coaches that the Nets have had, Steve Nash, is not getting back into coaching, but he is doing a podcast with Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, one of the greatest players in NBA history.
James, host of the "Mind the Game" podcast, will be having Nash on as his co-host for the second season of the show as announced on the podcast's account on X. Per the post, the next episode will be released on April 1 so any Nets fans that want to keep up with Nash or any NBA fans looking to hear more detailed analysis of basketball will be able to follow along starting on April Fool's Day.
Nash is taking over for JJ Redick, the current head coach of the Lakers, something James even makes a joke in the trailer that if Nash turns his appearance on the podcast into a head-coaching job that it wasn't planned by the duo. Nash, 51, is most known for his days as a player when he won league MVP twice before being inducted in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018.
As mentioned earlier, Nash coached the Nets for three seasons where he led the team to a 94-67 in 161 regular season games while also guiding the franchise to two playoff appearances. Nash was ultimately let go by the franchise during 2022-23 season after seven games as both sides agreed to mutually part ways after a 2-5 start to the season.
Based on various accounts, it seems that Nash was let go by the franchise given the amount of issues that happened during his tenure, including Kevin Durant requesting for his firing. Despite all of that, Nash is still considered one of the smartest people that has come across the NBA and his knowledge should come through during his appearances on the podcast with James.
