Zach Wilson is still believing in himself.
Wilson, the second-overall selection at the 2021 NFL draft by the New York Jets, is back in the AFC East. The former Jets QB has signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins.
Wilson will not be starting there. Tua Tagovailoa will continue that role, but with Taogvailoa's injury history there is a chance Wilson will get on the field at some point in 2025.
"This was something that was on our mind for a considerable amount of time," Miami head coach Mike McDaniels said. "Tua found that this environment helped him in that process. As coaches, we want to offer literally everything to [Wilson's] game."
Regardless of where Wilson currently is on the Dolphins' depth chart, he said after signing he believes he does have the tools in his locker to still be a starting quarterback in the NFL.
"I still believe I can be a starter in this league whenever that opportunity comes," Wilson said.
Despite his 12-21 career record, Wilson remains confident.
