Former Alabama defensive lineman signs with AFC West team as free agent
According to reports Thursday, former Alabama Crimson Tide defensive lineman Da'Shawn Hand has found a new home in the NFL by signing with the Los Angeles Chargers as a free agent.
Per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Hand's deal with the Chargers is for one year, and is worth up to $3.35M.
A fourth round pick from the 2018 NFL draft out of Alabama, Hand is coming off one of the better seasons of his seven-year professional career in which he started 2-of-17 games with the Miami Dolphins, amassing a career-high 31 tackles, five TFL, and one sack.
Hand's second season in Miami, the former Alabama defensive lineman has also seen time with the Detroit Lions and Tennessee Titans since entering the league back in 2018.
Hand now joins a Los Angeles Chargers team that recently signed former Alabama running back Najee Harris, and will also return a few other Crimson Tide players from last season such as Bradley Bozeman, JK Scott, and Justin Eboigbe.
