Barcelona manager Hansi Flick expressed his delight after guiding his team to the Copa del Rey final following a hard-fought victory against Atletico Madrid

Barcelona secured their spot in the final with a narrow 1-0 win, which proved sufficient after the 4-4 draw in the first leg.

With this win, Barcelona have now set up an enticing El Clasico showdown against Real Madrid, who have already qualified for the final.

It is worth noting that Barcelona recently defeated Atletico Madrid 4-2 at the same venue in a La Liga encounter, further showcasing their resilience and quality under Flick’s management.

“It’s not easy to win twice here, and we managed to do so thanks to the players’ good mentality, who showed personality in the second half despite their youth to maintain the 0-1 lead from the first half,” explained the coach.

“We knew how to defend at the end in a more close-quarters fight. The back four was very good, but it’s everyone’s job.”

While fans may be dreaming of a potential treble this season, Flick remains grounded, insisting that the focus must stay on the immediate challenges ahead.

With a busy schedule on the horizon, including a crucial league clash against Real Betis, Flick stressed the importance of maintaining concentration and dedication.

He highlighted the need for the squad to rest, recover, and keep their eyes on the task at hand.

“It’s allowed to dream, but we have to stay focused and focused on what we want. We’ll arrive at three or four, then we have to sleep and get back to training and recover.

“We’re facing Betis. The next few weeks won’t be easy, but we have a fantastic team. The club and the fans can be proud of the team.”

Praising Eric Garcia

Eric Garcia’s performance received special praise from Flick, who noted the defender’s ability to provide stability at the back.

Flick has been encouraging Garcia to remain patient and seize his opportunities, acknowledging the player’s versatility and professionalism.

“He provides more stability in defense, and that’s what we needed in the second half. But Pedri and Frenkie have also done an incredible job.

“I told him at Christmas to stay and that I would give him opportunities. He can play in different positions, as he’s doing. He’s a very young player and a very professional.”

Lucky to have Lewandowski and Torres
