Findlay Market Opening Day Parade 2025: Route, time and more

The Super Bowl for Cincinnati Reds fans arrives March 27 with Opening Day.

Per tradition, festivities including a parade and block party fill the streets, culminating in the Reds' home opener at Great American Ball Park. This year, the Reds play the San Francisco Giants at 4:10 p.m.

When is Opening Day 2025?

The Reds' first game of the season is Thursday, March 27. Cincinnati plays a home-opener against the San Francisco Giants at 4:10 p.m. ET at Great American Ball Park.

When does the Reds' Opening Day Parade start?

The annual Findlay Market Opening Day Parade in Over-the-Rhine kicks off at noon March 27, ahead of the Reds' afternoon game.

The Opening Day parade starts at Findlay Market on Race Street.

Reds Opening Day Parade route

The parade starts at Findlay Market on Race Street, travels straight down Race Street to Fifth Street, turns east on Fifth Street and ends at Taft Theatre.

More than 150 individuals, businesses and organizations have signed up to march in the parade this year, including Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval, Rhinegeist Brewery, the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden and The Enquirer.

The streets surrounding Findlay Market will be blocked off Thursday morning as parade floats line up in order starting at 9 a.m. This includes parts of Elm Street, Henry Street, Findlay Street, Elder Street and Green Street.

Who are the grand marshals for the Reds' 2025 Opening Day parade?

Former Reds third baseman Chris Sabo will serve as the parade's grand marshal. Former NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip is this year's honorary grand marshal.

Sabo was a three-time All-Star for the Reds, playing seven seasons with the team. The 1988 National League Rookie of the Year helped lead Cincinnati to its 1990 World Series championship. He also played for the Baltimore OriolesChicago White Sox and St. Louis Cardinals.

The Reds inducted him into their Hall of Fame in 2010.

Waltrip, an Owensboro, Kentucky, native, had over 1,000 NASCAR Cup Series starts and won the Daytona 500 twice. He is now a broadcaster for Fox Sports, which will host the inaugural MLB Speedway Classic game between the Reds and Atlanta Braves on Aug. 2 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Will the Reds' Opening Day Parade be canceled if it rains?

The Opening Day Parade will go on rain or shine, unless the Reds' game against the Giants is canceled.

When and where is the Reds' block party?

The annual Reds Community Fund Charity Block Party kicks off at 11 a.m. Thursday on Joe Nuxhall Way, Freedom Way and Marian Spencer Way ahead of the Opening Day game.

Entry to the block party is free of charge, and live music and entertainment will be provided. The event will occur rain or shine, according to block party organizers.

The annual Reds Community Fund Charity Block Party kicks off at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Food, drinks and alcoholic beverages for those 21 years of age or older will be available for purchase. The event is cash only.

When is the Reds' Kids Opening Day?

The Reds' Kids Opening Day is Saturday, March 29, ahead of the game against the Giants at 4:10 p.m.

The celebration kicks off with a red carpet parade at 11:15 a.m. outside Great American Ball Park. Children will line up outside the park along Joe Nuxhall Way with Reds and other local mascots. Reds players will walk the red carpet to greet fans around noon.

There will also be Kids Opening Day activities in the First Star Fan Zone, featuring circus performers, face painters, music and more.

Children 14 and younger receive a Kids Opening Day Reds hat at the game while supplies last. They will also be able to line up and run the bases after the game. Reds Heads kids club members will receive line priority.
