Inter Milan showed their exhaustion as they switched off yet again in Serie A and dropped points against Parma.
This is the verdict in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan will have thought that they were cruising at halftime yesterday at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.
The Nerazzurri were 2-0 up after the first half against Parma.
On the one hand, there were already clear warning signs from the home side. Inter had allowed a couple dangerous chances on the counterattack.
However, on the balance of play, Inter had largely controlled the match yesterday. They had created more and better chances to earn their lead.
Inter Milan Switch Off Again In Serie A To Drop Points Vs Parma
But Inter Milan certainly did not come on to the pitch with the right attitude in the second half at the Tardini.
The Nerazzurri seemed determined to simply protect their lead and run out the clock.
Against a Parma team hungry for a result in the relegation battle and with nothing to lose, this was precisely the wrong attitude from Inter.
The Nerazzurri invited far too much pressure from Parma.
And this is not the first time.
Just last weekend, Inter had allowed a similar fightback from Udinese.
The Nerazzurri survived that scare with the three points. But not this time.
Meanwhile, at the start of the season, an out-of-sorts Inter had dropped points in similar circumstances against the likes of Genoa and Monza.
