Evan Stewart ranked among nation's top receivers in 2025 for Oregon football

Oregon has had a recent history of having some special receiver rooms and 2025 shouldn't be any different. Quarterbacks Dante Moore and Austin Novosad, whoever wins the starting nod, will have many weapons to throw to this fall.

The top receiver in that room is expected to be senior Evan Stewart. The former Texas A&M transfer had a standout season in his first year in Eugene. He wound up with 48 catches, good for 613 yards and a career high five touchdowns. There's no reason no to expect those numbers to take a jump with Stewart being the primary target now.

According to ESPN, Stewart is one of the top receivers in the 2025 college football season. They ranked him as the No. 7 wideout in the country.

"Few returning wideouts bring more talent to the table than Stewart," said writer Max Olson. "The former five-star recruit went through ups and downs in two seasons at Texas A&M but really impressed Oregon's coaching staff last season and is coming back for his senior year to prove he can become an elite playmaker."

An elite playmaker is just what the Ducks need to take the next step. Of course, he won't be Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith, who was unanimously voted as the nation's No. 1 receiver, but surrounding Stewart with other playmakers will force opposing defenses to single-cover him, allowing him to show out for the Ducks.

Talent such as junior tight end Kenyon Sadiq and true freshman Dakorien Moore are just two players defenses won't be able to ignore. Both were listed as "receiving votes" by ESPN's panel of writers.
