Sunday's national championship game between South Carolina and UConn isn't just a heavyweight matchup in terms of the two teams taking the floor. It's also a heavyweight coaching matchup between Dawn Staley and Geno Auriemma.
These are two titans in the college basketball coaching ranks; two of the few living legends still active and adding to their legacies. Both are top-five all-time in national championships, with Auriemma's 11 titles leading the way and Staley tied for fourth with three titles.
In 14 previous head-to-head meetings, Auriemma leads the series 9-5. However, Staley owns the edge of late, winning five of their last seven games, including the 2022 national championship.
