This year’s Orange vs. White Spring Game will have a different look as Clemson moves away from its traditional format. Instead of splitting into two evenly matched teams, the offense will compete directly against the defense, with the offense wearing orange and the defense in white.
Head coach Dabo Swinney explained the change comes down to injury concerns, making it difficult to balance depth across two separate squads. Instead, the Tigers will play a true offense vs. defense game, allowing for smoother substitutions and better competition.
To keep the matchup competitive, Clemson has introduced a special scoring system. The offense will score conventionally, while the defense can earn points for stops, takeaways, and other key plays. Defensive scoring includes rewards for forcing three-and-outs, turnovers, fourth-down stops, and even missed field goals.

Another notable change this year is that the spring game will not be televised, a decision Clemson made with the hope of drawing more fans to Memorial Stadium. Several other programs have also opted out of broadcasting their spring games.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, with gates opening at 11:30 a.m. Admission is free, giving Tiger fans a chance to get their first look at the team as they prepare for the upcoming season.
