Chelsea’s plans for Kendry Paez explained as confusion surfaced over Strasbourg loan

Chelsea’s plans for new signing Kendry Paez have now been explained after some confusion surfaced in a report yesterday.

It was reported in France over the weekend that Paez had almost completed a loan move to Strasbourg from Chelsea already, despite not even arriving at the club yet pending the summer move.

But apparently this is not the actual situation, at least according to the latest source to speak on it, with more on that further below.

In the meantime though, Chelsea of course have already completed the deals to sign two players from Sporting, with one of them arriving this summer and the other the following summer. Apparently, Chelsea felt pressure from other top clubs so that’s why they got the deals for Geovany Quenda and Dario Essugo done early in some pre-deals.

The summer is shaping up to be a pretty busy one for The Blues with transfer deals to complete and also the Club World Cup to play in.

Apparently Paez is not going on loan to Strasbourg, he will just be training with them.

According to local sources, as cited on X, Páez is not going on loan to Strasbourg. He will only train at the French club as part of a process of adapting to European football. The Ecuadorian is in Chelsea’s plans for the Club World Cup.

I guess after the Club World Cup he could still go on loan somewhere, but we will have to wait and see what happens. But in the meantime, according to this at least, he will not be joining Strasbourg on loan only for training reasons to get used to European football. We will just have to see what happens with this one now then.
