Chelsea centre back Levi Colwill has declared that every game is now a final to Chelsea as they hit a vital Premier League run in.
This news comes off the back of Chelsea beating Legia Warsaw 3-0 away from home in the first leg of the Conference League quarter finals on Thursday night in Poland to pretty much set them up for a place in the semi finals of the competition.
EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea ARE looking to sign a new goalkeeper this summer and have world class name on the table!! 👀
Chelsea were awful in the first half but superb in the second half after what you feel would have been some harsh words from boss Enzo Maresca. The Italian went on to admit to ‘falling in love’ with one of his players after the game due to his incredible performance.
And it was an incredible night to remember for another academy gem as well with Tyrique George grabbing his first ever senior goal for his boyhood club. What a moment.
And today the focus turns back to the league as Chelsea attempt to qualify for the Champions League this season.
Results yesterday means The Blues dropped out of those places into 6th, but today against Ipswich they have a chance to jump straight back into them.
Colwill speaks
“It’s a huge game for us,” the centre-back said. “Every game from now on is a final to us. We’ve got to get the three points at home.
“We’ve got to remember what happened last time and give it a bit more. We weren’t good enough and they beat us. We’ve got to use that bit of anger that we’ve got in us to beat them this time.
“They’re quite a difficult team. I know that they’re in the bottom three, but they don’t always play like a bottom-three team.”
“I’ve played against him loads of times,” Colwill said of Ipswich striker Liam Delap. “He’s a really good player, but so are the rest of the [Ipswich] players. You can’t just think about him.
“I think every team in the league has had ups and downs this season. So have we. When we’re playing our football, I think we’re unstoppable. We’ve got to get the win on Sunday. Momentum is the biggest thing, and if our confidence is high, I think we’ll beat anyone.”
