Chase Dollander earns win in MLB debut with Rockies

Colorado (2-7) defeated the Athletics (4-6), 12-5, Sunday at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado.

Former Tennessee baseball pitcher Chase Dollander made his MLB debut for the Rockies. He pitched five innings and recorded six strikeouts. Dollander (1-0) earned his first career win and totaled 79 pitches, including 49 strikes, against 22 batters.

The former Vol allowed seven hits, four earned runs and one walk.

He is the eighth former Vol during the Tony Vitello era to play in MLB, joining Garrett CrochetChase SilsethBen JoyceAndre LipciusTrey Lipscomb, Jordan Beck and Seth Halvorsen.

Beck served as a pinch runner in Colorado's win against the Athletics on Sunday. He scored one run.
