Alex Ovechkin is second to no one after scoring his 895th NHL career goal Sunday afternoon, breaking his tie with Wayne Gretzky. The Washington Capitals star previously tied Gretzky with his 894th career goal, but after scoring against the Islanders as the regular season comes to a close, Ovechkin stands alone.
While the tally itself was awesome, of course, so was the call from local broadcaster Joe Beninati of Monumental Sports Network. A longtime sportscaster, Joe B delivered an incredible call of Ovechkin's record-breaking goal.
OVI GOALS:The 10 best Alex Ovechkin goals from his historic NHL career.
Beninati is a beloved fan-favorite broadcaster for the Capitals, so it's hardly a surprise he gave Washington fans a perfect call of Ovechkin's 895th career goal to break the Great One's record.
