Caitlin Clark talks about taking her competitive spirit too far in teaser for David Letterman's Netflix show
One of the WNBA's biggest stars will sit down for an extended interview with comedian and late-night talk-show host David Letterman in April. Indiana Fever standout Caitlin Clark was announced as a guest on Letterman's Netflix show, "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction." Clark's episode will air April 8.
Netflix teased a clip from the interview Monday, in which Clark explains how her competitive spirit can get her, and her family members, into trouble.

In the clip, Clark discussed how she's always been competitive. She said she learned how to ride her bike at an early age because she wanted to keep up with her older brother. She also told a story of how she ran from house to house on Halloween because she wanted to get more candy than anyone else in the neighborhood.
Clark's antics got her dad in trouble, however, as he was supposed to keep an eye on her. That drew the ire of Clark's mom, who questioned how Clark's dad lost their daughter on Halloween. When asked be Letterman if she's still like that, Clark deadpanned, "Well, I don't trick or treat anymore."
After leaving the "Late Show" on CBS, Letterman started filming episodes of "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction" with Netflix in 2018. A number of guests have appeared on the program, including former President Barack Obama, activist Malala Yousafzai, George Clooney and more. Letterman's interviews are wide-ranging, and focus on both serious and comedic issues. The program won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2024 for Letterman's interview with comedian John Mulaney.
For sports fans, Clark truly needs no introduction. After exploding onto the scene as a standout with the Iowa Hawkeyes, Clark was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. She scored 19.2 points per game as a rookie, won the Rookie of the Year award, was an All-Star and was named to the All-WNBA team. Clark will look to lead the Fever to even greater heights when the WNBA begins May 16.
