Blackhawks Give A Tough Jason Dickinson Update After Practice

The Chicago Blackhawks held practice on Tuesday. They are preparing for Wednesday night’s game against the New Jersey Devils at United Center.

The big news from practice is the health update on Jason Dickinson. Interim head coach Anders Sorensen confirmed that Jason Dickinson’s wrist injury will shut him down for the rest of the season.

Dickinson's disappointing season ended with just 7 goals and 9 assists for 16 points in 59 games. He is a strong defensive forward, but he probably feels he could have been better in that area of the game as well. Two big injuries didn’t help.

One year prior, Dickinson received Selke Trophy votes in addition to his 22 goals and 13 assists for 35 points. The Hawks know they have a great third-line center in him, but this year wasn’t as strong as he has shown in the past. This summer, Dickinson will be getting healthy and doing what’s needed to return to his 2023-24 form.

Other injuries include Alec Martinez, who is day to day, and Colton Dach, who will miss some time with his injury but hasn’t been declared out for the year (the pending Rockford IceHog playoff run will influence that).

As for the rest of the practice, the lines were the same as they were in Sunday’s win over the Philadelphia Flyers, which looked as follows:

Donato-Nazar-Bedard

Teravainen-Foligno-Mikheyev

Kurashev-Veleno-Bertuzzi

Slaggert-Reichel-Maroon

Vlasic-Crevier

Del Mastro-Murphy

Kaiser-Levshunov

On Wednesday night, folks can expect these lines against the New Jersey Devils. That game can be seen locally on CHSN and nationally on TNT. It can also be heard on AM 720.
