Nine days into spring practice we have our third black stripe removal, this time by way of second-year defensive lineman Dominic Kirks. The Painesville, Ohio native saw action in three games during his freshman year at Ohio State. Originally committed to Washington, the Buckeyes were able to flip Kirks and keep him close to home.
Kirks was a four-star recruit coming out of high school and was ranked as the No. 32 defensive lineman in the class and the No. 10 ranked player in Ohio according to 247Sports. With Caden Curry and Kenyatta Jackson set to take over the starting defensive end positions, Kirks will be battling with former linebacker turned edge rusher, C.J. Hicks and Idaho State transfer Logan George for second-team reps along with freshman Zion Grady and third-year edge, Joshua Mickens. It's a loaded position group and we'll have to wait and see if new defensive coordinator Matt Patricia rotates linemen more generously than his predecessor, Jim Knowles.

It may have taken a little longer than most, but Dominic Kirks is now officially part of the Brotherhood.
