Bishop Walsh graduate calling games in NCAA tournament
CUMBERLAND — Bishop Walsh graduate Danny Reed will be a play-by-play radio announcer for Westwood One's coverage of the NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament.
Reed will call games for the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 rounds.
Reed is currently the voice of Georgia Southern athletics and called this year's Conference USA championship game.
He previously announced minor league baseball games for the Bowling Green Hot Rods and Charleston RiverDogs.
His previous experience also includes Division I schools Charleston Southern and The Citadel.
Reed got his start at WCBC in Cumberland calling Dapper Dan baseball games.
Reed graduated from Bishop Walsh in 2003, then graduated from Waynesburg University and called women's basketball, baseball and high school football for Waynesburg's flagship station WCYJ-FM.
The Sweet 16 takes place next Friday and Saturday with the Elite 8 the following Sunday and Monday.
