Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray open to playing Olympic flag football for South Korea
The 2028 Summer Olympics, hosted by Los Angeles, will have flag football for the first time. The US team could have NFL players. Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is open to playing in the Olympics and would even consider representing South Korea, the heritage of his mother.
While traveling to South Korea for the first time, Murray appeared on KBS World Radio English for an interview. He was asked about the possibility of playing flag football in the Olympics for South Korea.
"If they asked me to do it, that would be incredible to see, but it's probably a bit of a stretch at the moment, probably" He said. "I don't know much of the logistics behind it. I'd probably have to talk it over with my family and obviously the Cardinals organization to see how everything would shake out, but I'd definitely be open to it. I wouldn't cancel anything out."
Murray isn't focused on the Olympics, though. If the opportunity arose, it would be interesting to see whether he would accept it and how it would be received by fans here.
He is focused on his work with the Cardinals. "My main focus is getting to the Super Bowl and winning it," he said.
To be clear, in case fans misinterpret this. Murray was asked by a Korean show about the Olympics. He didn't bring it up. His focus should not be in question.
But if the possibility came up, it would be cool if he were to represent his family's heritage.
