Amateur Noah Kent earns Masters crystal with stellar eagle on 13th hole

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Noah Kent stood in the pine straw, 230 yards from No. 13 pin. With the cutline out of reach, he turned to caddie, Jonathan Smart.

“I want some crystal,” the Florida amateur said.

Smart handed his player a 4-iron, and Kent delivered, striking the ball towards the flagstick.

“It came out straight and I was like, ‘This is going to be good,’” Kent said. “But nobody clapped, so I'm like, ‘It must not be that close,’ and I got up there and it was a foot away. I was like, ‘Harsh crowd.’”

Kent tapped in for eagle to earn his crystal highball glasses.

“Yeah, it was pretty cool,” the amateur said.

Kent finished the tournament at 11-over, while no amateur will play the weekend at Augusta National.

Georgia Tech’s Hiroshi Tai — 6-over — carded the lowest 36-hole score among the five amateurs.

This marks the first time since 2022 that there will be no Low Amateur.
