If Alex Ovechkin wants to break Wayne Gretzky's goal record before the home fans, he has four chances left during the final weeks of the regular season.
The first time is Sunday afternoon when the Washington Capitals face the Buffalo Sabres during a brief trip home amid four games on the road. They're coming off a two-game trip in which Ovechkin scored career goal No. 889 at Winnipeg. The team then heads out for games in Boston and North Carolina.
Ovechkin needs six goals over the final 10 games to break Gretzky's record of 894, which has stood since 1999.
