Adam Serwinowski, Reds' left-handed pitching prospect, scratched from first Dayton start

Adam Serwinowski, a left-handed pitcher ranked 12th by MLB Pipeline among the Cincinnati Reds' top prospects, was scheduled to make his first High-A start for the Dayton Dragons on Saturday.

Baseball America's Emily Waldon reported via Twitter/X that Serwinowski was ruled out after suffering a minor injury before the start of Dayton's game against West Michigan.

Brian Edgington made the start in Serwinowski's absence. The Dragons lost 4-3 to the Whitecaps.

The 6-foot-5 Serwinowski turns 21 in June. He was selected by the Reds in the 15th round of the 2022 MLB draft from Eastside High School in Taylors, South Carolina.

Friday night in Grand Rapids, Chase Burns made his pro debut for the Dragons, striking out six while allowing just one hit and one walk in four scoreless innings. Burns, the Reds' top prospect, was the second overall pick in the 2024 MLB draft.
