Teams have moved quickly this week, and most of the top players in NFL free agency are already off the board just a few days after the new league year officially started on Wednesday.
That doesn't mean there isn't plenty of talent still left for your team to sign. Here are some of the best available players still out there.
QB Aaron Rodgers
The biggest and best name still out there is Rodgers, who met with the Steelers on Friday but left without a deal, and might still have a door ajar in Minnesota for himself. It's looking like those two teams or retirement, since the Giants just signed Russell Wilson.
WR Amari Cooper
Cooper was hurt with the Bills and maybe that's why he was not a big part of the offense, with 297 yards in eight games. He will be 31 in June but had a 1,250-yard season in 2023 and has been consistently productive. Teams have to figure out if 2024 was the first sign of a major slide.
WR Keenan Allen
Allen's trade to Chicago last spring didn't turn out like he or the Bears had hoped, with 70 catches for 744 yards and six touchdowns and a struggle to fit into the offense overall. Allen turns 33 next month but is still a good route runner and can beat man or zone coverage.
CB Asante Samuel Jr.
Samuel Jr. is coming off a shoulder injury that knocked him out of most of the 2024 season. Still, he's just 25 years old, experienced and is a good tackler with strong closing speed. Some team in need of upgrading their DB room is going to pay him.
RB J.K. Dobbins
Dobbins had 905 yards and nine touchdowns in 13 games last season. The issue with Dobbins is a lengthy injury history. He proved last season he is still effective when healthy, but durability will always be the question with him.
RB Nick Chubb
Signing Chubb would require a leap of faith. Chubb is one of the best runners of this era, but he suffered a major knee injury in 2023 and last season he was ineffective in his return before a broken foot ended his 2024 season early. If Chubb is healthy, he's an excellent back. That's a big risk now.
TE Tyler Conklin
Conklin posted 449 yards for the Jets last season and does everything fairly well. Even though he turns 30 in July, he's probably good enough to be a starter for some team on a short-term deal.
