Watch live: White House holds press briefing in wake of Hurricane Milton
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will brief reporters Thursday in the wake of Hurricane Milton making landfall in Florida.
President Biden spoke to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) earlier Thursday on the impacts of the storm. The governor said officials were still assessing the damage across the state and thanked Biden for the extensive federal support to prepare and respond to the storm, according to the White House.
Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Deanne Criswell will survey the storm’s impacts with DeSantis and brief the president afterward.
The press briefing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. EDT.
