Watch live: White House holds press briefing as global tension rises
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is slated to deliver remarks Wednesday under the shadow of tensions in Eastern Europe and the Middle East amid the ongoing wars in the regions.
From Ukraine's surprise incursion into Russia last month to the seemingly stalled cease-fire negotiations in Israel-Hamas's war in Gaza, President Biden has been under pressure from both sides of the aisle to take action.
The briefing also comes with just two months until Election Day and less than a month until a potential government shutdown.
The event is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. EDT.
