Watch live: Trump courts voters in battleground North Carolina
Former President Trump is continuing his push to gain a solid lead among North Carolina voters with a Wednesday visit to a plumbing pipe distributor in suburban Charlotte.
Since Vice President Harris has replaced President Biden at the top of the Democratic Party ticket, the contenders have been locked in a near tie for the Tar Heel State, making it a prime target for both campaigns.
In recent days, Trump has been stressing his proposal to boost business for U.S. manufacturers through the use of tariffs, issuing an ultimatum to farm equipment company John Deere in particular that he'll put a 200 percent import tax on their products if they build them in Mexico.
Trump will be speaking at the Mint Hill, N.C., facility of the Mossack Group, a U.S.-based entity that now handles retailing for the Netherlands-based multinational Aalberts, which itself purchased a manufacturer with operations in North and South Carolina.
The former president is slated to appear at 1 p.m. EDT.
