Watch live: Senate panel to vote on RFK Jr. nomination for HHS secretary
The Senate Finance Committee is meeting Tuesday morning to vote on whether to advance Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s nomination to head the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Kennedy has faced an uphill battle after being tapped by President Trump to helm HHS. In two fiery confirmation hearings before the Senate Finance and Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) committees, the environmental lawyer was pressed on his anti-vaccine rhetoric and past abortion stance.
Kennedy — who is unlikely to receive any Democratic support — has a singular focus: winning the support of Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), who could single-handedly end his confirmation hopes.
The meeting is set to begin Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. EST.
